How anyone can really explain
the killing, collateral damage and all else going on in Syria and the Middle
East is simply beyond me! Most painful is the plight of innocent children who
through no fault of their own find themselves in the midst of it all.
None of the protagonists are
innocent nor have they a justifiable reason for what is happening and while
each side will claim they have a just cause or some greater power on their
side, they are actually individual culprits and have personally signed up to
whatever they are doing.
I have no intent to offend or
slag off at anyone’s belief in all of this because that is no way to find a
solution but I do have to ask if the protagonists have any desire to cease the
hostilities and stop the killing.
History is charged with
exactly what is going on at the present time, in real terms it has not much has
changed other than the methodology. Cultures have tried to wipe each other off
the face of the Earth, which is probably why there are no Neanderthal left, yet
in all of us still some of their DNA remains.
The demise of the Neanderthal
was likely because they looked different to our more modern version and
sometimes fighting and killing is based on simply on visual differences. But
most of it is based belief and more usually religious belief.
Most religions have texts that
believers adhere to simply because they have faith in the validity of those
texts – and it is a very good thing to be holy! Holy equates with good, or so
say most.
It is the interpretation of
the texts and the spin put onto those texts that causes most of the fighting, the
spin being religion that is the excuse for fighting. Manmade hatred does not equate to holy, you
will not find the connection in any text.
It is parents, most often
fathers, who are responsible for hatred! A household rant about another culture/religion
is quickly picked up by the impressionable, which is why it is so easy to pick coverts
up via social media.
In most cultures and
religions, parents are to be respected and so it is natural that the ideas a
beliefs of a father will be emulated by his children.
The recent report where a
fighter executed his own mother, shows the power of indoctrination – the cause above
all else. The fighter and those encouraging him should be universally condemned!
As well as the killing that is
going on right now, there are civilian medical and food shortages. The thing
about killing, you lose the sense of empathy, unprepared to consider anything
in the least bit humane. This is no different to any of the genocide throughout
history with the end aim being death to all, it matters little how they get
there! But that is the thinking of men who are killers, nothing to do with
holy. There are no holy wars it is a makeup by people who have a vested
interest!
Somewhere, sometime the
killing has to stop and that will take leadership! Maybe a cleric or religious
leader will be inspired enough to stand up and say, ‘Enough!’ But that does not
look likely, so fathers need to teach their children that hatred is not a holy
thing and that people have to learn to live together or humanity as we know it
may well be doomed! Fathers need to teach the skills of how to live beyond
warring.
What else are career fighters
good at? Can they grow food? Can they repair a water pump? They are good at
destroying, now can they rebuild?
The world is waiting.
